Sport is not just getting physically involved into a game, its way more than that, it helps one take a break from everything and just release all the pent up tension. Involving kids into sports championships can help them lead a much fuller and happier life than usual giving social and psychological benefits.
So looking forward to these advantages the grounds were set, spirits were high, grip on the bats were tight, cues were aimed, arches were pulled and all eyes were set on the prize as Al-Nadil-Al-Burhani was set for the biggest sports event of the year; The Schoolathon.
The Schoolathon; an inter-school sports championship held from the 10th of January to the 12th of January consisting of different sports for the little ones to engage and compete in. A total of 7 prestigious school participated in the event including Badri High School, Al-Madrasa-Tus-Saifiyah-tul-Burhaniyah (Shabbirabad), Hussamiya School, Saifiyah Boys High School, Al-Madrasa-Tus-Saifiyah-tul-Burhaniyah (Hyderi), Saifiyah Girls School and Hakimi School.
The schools were competing against each other in Cricket, Futsal, Throw Ball, Volley Ball, Table Tennis, Swimming, Archery and several Athletic activities held for both girls and boys separately. The Schoolathon, organized by Shabab-ul-Eid-i-Zahabi-Karachi and Al-Nadil-Al-Burhani, was pumped with high sports spirit and one could literally feed on it. The whistles echoed in the ground, the balls flew around and the cheering was the only thing the audience was all about.
The event was graced by Pakistani cricket star Fawad Alam at the start and the closing ceremony held on 12th of January 2020 was graced by an enthusiastic audience consisting of parents, students, teachers, coaches and so many others.
Even though Schoolathon was a championship, it was all about diverse teams showing teamwork and sportsmanship. Michael Jordan once said “talent wins games but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” And as said showing immense amount of teamwork, we had Badri High School coming out of the tournament as championship winner in the boy’s category and Al-Madrasa-Tus-Saifiyah-tul-Burhaniyah (Hyderi) came out as championship winner in the girl’s category.
Al-Nadil-Al-Burhani was super excited and proud to host the first Schoolathon Championship to take place and looks forward to the next installment of high energy, amazing sportsmanship qualities and loads of fun.
